ParcelTrack Pro

Summary

We collect only what is needed to track your parcels — an automatically generated per-install account identifier and the tracking numbers you add. There is no sign-in form and we never ask you for personal account details. We never sell your data, never access your browsing history, and never share personal information with third parties.

What data we collect

Account data — when you first open the extension, it silently creates a private account for that install (a randomly generated identifier and a bcrypt-hashed random key). You are never asked to enter a name, email, or password.
Tracking numbers — the parcel tracking numbers you explicitly add to the extension.
Tracking history — status updates and events retrieved from carrier APIs for your tracking numbers.

What we do NOT collect

Browsing history or visited URLs
Any data from web pages you visit
Location data
Any information not directly related to parcel tracking

How your data is used

Your data is used solely to display parcel tracking information to you. We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third party, except for carrier tracking APIs (e.g. TrackingMore) which receive only the tracking number — no personal information is ever sent to them.

Permissions we request

storage — to save your session token and parcel list locally on your device.
alarms — to schedule automatic background refreshes every 30 minutes.
notifications — to alert you when a parcel status changes or is delivered.

We do not use any host permissions beyond our own API server (parceltrack-api-production.up.railway.app).

Data retention

Your account and tracking data are retained as long as the extension remains installed. You may delete individual parcels at any time from the extension. To request deletion of your account data entirely, email us and we will remove all your data within 7 days.

Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt (cost factor 10). All communication between the extension and our server uses HTTPS. JWTs are signed and expire after 30 days.

Children's privacy

ParcelTrack Pro is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date below. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
